Welcome!

UPDATE:The MidSens'10 proceedings are now available in the ACM digital library [ LINK ] .
The fifth international workshop on Middleware Tools, Services and Run-Time Support for Sensor Networks (MidSens'10) will be co-located with Middleware 2010 (November 29th - December 3rd, 2010) in Bangalore, India.
Middleware for sensor networks is a critical research domain which addresses key challenges that application developers are facing today. The four previous editions of this workshop (MidSens'06, MidSens'07, MidSens'08 and MidSens'09) attracted researchers from Europe, Asia, and the United States. The MidSens workshop series has served to trigger and guide research efforts to create an integrated middleware vision, which is required to handle the challenges inherent in developing, deploying and managing complex sensor applications in an efficient way.
The aim of MidSens'10 is to stimulate research in the specific domain of middleware, programming languages and run-time support for wireless sensor networks (WSNs), to collect current expertise, to further refine and integrate different approaches and to bridge the gap between Middleware and WSN researchers. In particular, MidSens will investigate how middleware services can relieve programmers from the lowest level sensor details, while still enabling them to exploit a sensor's capabilities in an optimal way. This year's workshop will also investigate investigate middleware approaches for realizing multi-application, shared infrastructure sensor networks along with methodologies for integrating sensor networks with enterprise architectures.
The Call For Papers can be found here, all workshop papers will be uploaded to the ACM Digital Library.

News:

19th November 2010: This year's workshop will feature a tutorial on the LooCI component model. To support this tutorial, we have developed a Virtual Machine containing a complete LooCI development environment. You can download the virtual machine here and instructions on how to set it up are available here. Note: the Virtual Machine is very large (1.3GB)
09th October 2010: We are excited to confirm that the keynote speech at this year's workshop will be given by Balamurali P, head of TATA Consultancy Services Innovation Lab, Bangalore. The abstract for this talk is available on the program page .
21st September 2010: The draft MidSens program is now available on the program page . We expect to make an exciting announcement about the MidSens keynote this week.
31st August 2010: We are pleased to confirm that this year's workhop will feature a hands-on tutorial on using LooCI to build sensor network applications.
15th August 2010: Due to further requests the deadline for paper submission has been extended to August 22nd. This should be considered a HARD deadline and it will not be extended further.
25th July 2010: Due to numerous requests, the paper submission deadline has been extended to August 15th.
